5 Apple Recipes To Try This Fall

The second a hint of fall arrives I hit the oven running! To say I love to bake is an understatement but today’s recipe post isn’t just about baking. It’s about how to use all those wonderful fresh apples in your fall dishes, and I’m not just talking desserts. Today I’m sharing five sweet and savory dishes that will have you running for the hills or in this case your nearest orchard. The following are my personal favorites, or new to me and New England classics.

Pork Chops with Caramel Apples

Pork chops with apples is an easy to make and delicious fall dinner recipe. The chops are first pan-fried, then apples and onions are cooked with a little honey until deliciously caramelized. It’s fantastic spooned over mashed potatoes!

Apple Bundt Cake

This apple cake is moist and delicious and has the perfect amount of sweetness and spice. Large chunks of apple and chopped walnuts add great flavor and texture to the cake.  Once this apple cake comes out of the oven, a wonderful sweet buttery vanilla glaze is poured over the top which soaks in to make the cake even more delicious.

Dutch Apple Bread

A delicious apple bread recipe that is quick and comes out fluffy, moist, and sooo fragrant! It is filled with apple and nut pieces, a cinnamon-sugar crust and a glaze to top.

Ina Garten’s Apple Crisp

This is a delicious dessert consisting of freshly baked cinnamon apples with a buttery streusel topping. It is similar to an apple crisp pie but not quite as deep and, of course, no pie crust.

Roasted Apples & Sweet Potatoes

These roasted apple and sweet potatoes combine the best flavors fall has to offer, so if you’re looking for a side that will send everyone back for seconds this year, look no further. Warm roasted apples and cinnamon make this dish fragrant and flavorful, while sweet potatoes complete the hearty, home-cooked side dish.
