Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival 2018

Today I’m sharing a short visual of our day well spent at this year’s Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival! This is literally a snapshot of what was a wonderful experience at the festival. With too many photos to overwhelm anyone I narrowed it down to just these few for you to enjoy. Marble House in Newport, RI for the annual NMWFF.The weather was absolutely fabulous considering it’s early fall and the temperatures tend to fluctuate immensely this time of year. It was warm, partly cloudy and no humidity. We attended the last day of the festival and as in previous years, it was no disappointment! The food, the music, the libations, everything was exquisitely orchestrated to make the best tasting experience Newport has to offer. The myriad of vintners and vendors showcasing their best goods was impressive to say the least. This year’s meat stand was something to behold! OMG! The variety of game, poultry and red meats was deliciously cooked right before your eyes! Look at the steaks and that rib. Sampling these was absolutely amazing!I love finding new beers and ales to try. I usually keep with the seasonal kinds and this Newport Craft Storm Blueberry was surprisingly fantastic! As for the sweets these are really a sneak peek of what was available. My favorite of course were the figs on phyllo squares dried with caramel! Second favorite were the pumpkin pie mousse.I topped my afternoon with a visit to the Chateau d’Esclans and Whispering Angel Rosé stand. They outdid themselves with such a fabulous setting. Marble House’s breathtaking backdrop was the perfect setting to make you feel like you’re in a tropical island! The new Palm Rosé was a wonderful and crisp drink that is sure to be a hit with everyone. The bottle alone is too lovely to pass up!

Many thanks to The Preservation Society of Newport County and Newport Mansions for inviting me once again to this amazing annual event. All views are strictly my own.
