Juliette Has a Gun Moscow Mule: The Hidden Gem I Almost Missed
How has this fragrance been around since 2018, and I’m just discovering it now? I found Juliette Has a Gun Moscow Mule while shopping in Newport, and it was immediate. One spray and I knew I wasn’t leaving without it.
Moscow Mule is a fantastic citrus, woody musk that’s fresh without feeling casual. It’s crisp and sparkling in the opening, but there’s something incredibly polished and sophisticated about the way it develops on the skin.

Lime • Ginger • Bergamot • Apple • Sandalwood • Ambroxan • Ambretolide • Iso E Super
The citrus and ginger give the opening its brightness, but the drydown is where I really fell in love. I smell the most beautiful soft vanilla. Except there’s no vanilla in Moscow Mule. On my skin, the combination of sandalwood, Ambroxan, Ambretolide, Iso E Super, and those warm woody molecules creates a smooth, softly sweet effect that my nose interprets as almost vanilla-like. It’s creamy, subtle, and absolutely gorgeous. And while she’s fresh, I don’t necessarily think of Moscow Mule as a casual daytime fragrance.
She’s fresh dressed up for dinner. Cocktail parties. Date night. Happy hour. Dinner somewhere beautiful. She’s sophisticated and stunning without relying on a heavy gourmand sweetness to get there. And that’s what has me wondering: Why aren’t we talking about Moscow Mule more?
With so much attention constantly going toward new fragrance releases, it’s easy to overlook something that’s already been sitting on the shelf for years. Moscow Mule was released in 2018, yet to me she feels every bit as interesting and wearable today. I’m calling this one a hidden gem.
