Arabian Crest Ishq: Beautifully Made, But Too Much Rose for Me
Sometimes a fragrance is well done… it’s just not your style. That was my experience with Arabian Crest Ishq. From the very first spray, the rose takes center stage. It’s bold, powerful, and incredibly sharp at the opening. While the fragrance does soften as it dries down, it never stops being a rose-forward scent.
Prominent Notes
- Rose
- Peony
- White florals
- Soft musk
- Warm woods

One thing I can’t criticize is the performance. Ishq is beast mode. It projects beautifully, lasts for hours, and only takes a couple of sprays to make its presence known. So, if you love rich, loud florals with rose as the undeniable star, I can absolutely see why this fragrance has its fans. For me, though, it’s simply too much.
I tend to enjoy fragrances where rose plays a supporting role or is softened by creamy, sweet, or gourmand notes. In Ishq, the rose is dominant from beginning to end, and that’s more than my nose enjoys.
I’m not ready to give up on it just yet. My next step is to experiment with layering. I think pairing it with something creamy, vanilla-forward, or marshmallow-like might soften the sharpness and create a fragrance I’ll reach for more often.
Not every fragrance has to become a favorite, and that’s okay. Sometimes discovering what doesn’t work for you is just as valuable as finding what does.
