Coastal Spring Cardigan

Ahhh, good ‘ole Newport, our favorite City by The Sea. Whether you visit for the colorful yacht-filled harbor, or the magnificent Gilded Age mansions there is always something for everyone in this quaint New England town. Glor was on spring break last week and as per usual we drove down to spend a couple of days just the two of us. The weather this time of year is tricky and wasn’t optimal but it did glow up toward the weekend. The daffodils are on full display for Daffy Month and the town was buzzing, but there’s still something extra cozy about hanging out during the low season, before things really start to boom.

I’m doing a cute outfit post today because as a New Englander, there’s just something about sporting the very much sought after lobster sweater, or as in this case, a lobster back cardigan. I love the nautical vibes on this one with anchors on the pockets with a large lobster on back which is quintessential New England. This one is a bit chunky so wearing a simple tee or button down underneath is perfect for any day on the coast. I bought it from a local small business in Newport where many of the boutique shops are loaded with all things coastal. It rivals the ever so popular one that Anthropologie rolled out last year and for a fraction of the cost.

I also recently bought this lobster sweater and it too is just so chic. It’s available in all sizes, but I sized down for a little more fitted look. I have a nice little collection of lobster sweaters and they truly come in handy any given day, and I’m especially fond of wearing them when I’m by the water. For this post I’m wearing the cardigan with my favorite jeans and my go-with-everything boating shoes
