Springtime is daffodil time in Newport and here we’re standing in one of the prettiest daffodil fields. It’s become a tradition of sorts for Glor and I to frolic among the daffodils and every year we make our way through. For a very brief time in the spring season, daffodils debut their bright faces for everyone to enjoy. Newport’s annual daffodil show is a delightful experience. It is somewhat like the hydrangeas during the summer months although not as majestic, imo.
After a New England winter, millions of hibernating daffodils prepare. They are ready to make their debut along the city’s cobblestone paths and sun-drenched shores. These cheery yellow flowers have become my favorites to welcome spring and during the last few weeks of April, Newport becomes a happy place with millions of daffodils blooming. Additionally, the most beautiful floral window displays are seen gracing the shops and restaurants all around town. This lighthearted event is one of my favorite times to be in Newport. It’s a great trip for families, couples, or even a girl’s getaway!
