A Charcuterie Ensemble with Anchor & Hope Wines

There are so many things I enjoy during the summer months one of which is setting up a light al fresco menu. There is no easier thing to do than a fantastic charcuterie spread. Actually, I love putting these together for the fall season as well before it gets too cold, as seen here and here. Today I’m sharing a simple charcuterie summer menu and I’m pairing it with two super fabulous wines that will complement every single bite you take!

I’m so excited to partner with Anchor & Hope to try a couple of their popular wines. Anchor & Hope is a RI based négociant winery founded by California native James Davids and Massachusetts born and raised, Marissa Stashenko. They are most definitely a great addition to wine making in New England. How fabulous is that!

In 2018 James and Marissa left the biggest wine region in the US (California) for a more fulfilling lifestyle and settled in Providence, RI. They brought their passion and knowledge of wine and quickly began their new wine venture in the northeast. They built a winery in an old wire mill building in Rumford, RI, about 10 minutes from Providence. Then they partnered with small family farms from California, Oregon and Germany to make some really awesome wine.

The wines are shipped soon after harvest then aged and packaged into kegs, cans, and bottles. James and Marissa are especially passionate about alternative packaging (kegs & cans) because not only is it better for the environment (no waste) but the wine stays fresher longer. The cost of packaging is also much lower which allows them to provide really amazing quality wine to the consumers at a much better price.

Though Anchor & Hope began as eco-friendly wine on tap for local restaurants to serve by the glass, thankfully, they now bottle and can many of their wines for sale at retail. The couple is currently working on changing their license in order to open a tasting room in the near future.

The Anchor & Hope bottles and cans name the specific vineyard where the grapes were harvested as well as the winemaker who created it. Though I’ve always been a red wine kind of gal, in recent years I’ve slowly shifted to rosé especially for the summertime. Anchor & Hope’s light and zippy rosé is in my humble opinion the absolute best! With hints of strawberry, raspberry and pepper, it is a fantastic accompaniment to any charcuterie spread and sooo refreshing!

Anchor & Hope wines are currently available at stores and restaurants in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Connecticut & California. For more information about Anchor & Hope wines, visit their website and on Instagram.
