Italian Dining at Ballo

At first glance when you walk into Ballo Italian Restaurant at Mohegan Sun Casino you think you’ve just entered a century-old gothic castle! The whole place is just amazing and these pics certainly don’t do it justice. From the super high arches and gorgeous corinthian pillars to the beautiful lighting and an amazing menu, this my friends is my kind of dining!We began our culinary adventure with fun cocktails. Our beyond great waiter suggested the ‘Ballo Limonata’ which was quite refreshing and then I moved on to a ‘Peach Bellini’ to soften my palette. Next on our radar were one of my favorite appetizers, Calamari Fritti and these gorgeous Arancini Risotto Fritters. The super delectable Buffalo Mozzarella with Roasted Asparagus was a nice change from the norm.Of all the dishes I picked, the one I absolutely loved the most was this amazing Mista salad with chickpeas; the lemony Arugula salad with pine nuts wasn’t too shabby either!We moved on to surf meals. Scallops & Shrimp on Polenta was my choice while the Mr. ordered the Organic Scottish Salmon.One other dish I will rave about is this amazing Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta & Honey. OMG! I don’t care how many tries it will take but I know I will be making this dish at home, guaranteed. Hands down the best sprouts I’ve ever had!And onto the desserts. No meal is ever complete without sweets.
