Today’s scent combination brings together two vanillas that deliver completely different personalities. I started with Riiffs Zenith as the base. Zenith is creamy and smooth, with coconut, vanilla, musk and soft woods. It has plenty of sweetness, but it also has a warm, slightly woody quality that keeps it from smelling like a basic sugary vanilla.
Then I layered Khadlaj Panache Angel Dust over it. Angel Dust brings a brighter opening with mandarin and tart red currant wrapped in vanilla. Rum and sandalwood add warmth through the middle, while whipped cream, benzoin and musk soften the drydown.
Why the combination works…
Zenith creates the creamy coconut-vanilla foundation. Angel Dust gives it brightness, fruitiness and a little more movement.
The shared vanilla connects the two fragrances, but they do not disappear into one flat scent. I can still pick up Zenith’s creamy warmth underneath the brighter mandarin and red currant from Angel Dust.
As the combination settles, the sandalwood, rum and whipped vanilla make everything feel smoother and more rounded.
The result is creamy, bright and softly sweet, with enough woodiness to give it some structure. Angel Dust lifts Zenith without taking away the warm vanilla quality I enjoy.
This is exactly what I want from a layering combination. Each fragrance keeps its own personality, but together they create something more interesting than either one alone. Would you try this combination, or would you wear them separately?
