It’s been snowing and raining and then ice all over New England! With over a foot of snow on the ground at home Glor and I were thrilled to escape for a few days of winter sun. My son who moved to Miami two years ago just relocated into a gorgeous high-rise condo overlooking Miami bay. Not gonna lie, it’s incredibly convenient to have a reason to fly down to the sunshine state any time I want.

For this trip I’m planning to wear shorts and slacks almost exclusively for day, with a dress or two for evening. Two of my dresses can do double duty as coverups when paired with sandals, or for a nice dinner when paired with heels. I love that Miami’s night scene is pretty energetic and polished and that the people like to dress up for dinner. I chose a semi-monochromatic and neutral palette to maximize versatility when mixing and matching outfits. With that in mind I was able to pack everything neatly in cubes into my luggage and travel with just one checked bag and one personal item. This is perfect because you gain the advantage of packing light. I hope you find my outfit picks fun while providing you some inspo for your next warm weather escape!
MY OUTFIT LIST FOR MIAMI
DRESSES
- This eyele embroidered shirt dress is fabulous for day or dinner with or without heels.
- The halter top maxi dress is super flattering for a day at the beach and trasitions beautifully to dinner with heels.
- I love the ease and casual elegance of this short sleeved striped maxi that you can style in a variety of ways!
- Never not without a classic little black dress. This vintage inspired Jackie ‘O dress is as elegant as the Miami scene.

TOPS
- I’ve been loving these super versatile slim tees for layering under sweaters or throwing on with linen blend trousers and shorts! I packed the brown tee and the white/creame versions.
- I’m really loving the ‘tee’ addition to my wardrobe. I also packed this black one because of its polished look and feel and is incredibly versatile.
- An oversized white button-down for double duty. Works great as a bathing suit coverup or pop the collar and scrunch the sleeves when wearing with shorts.
- I also packed other tops for variety, a simple cropped blue button-down, this lovely short sleeved collared knit, a classic striped button-down and this cute ruffled collar striped blouse.
- I wore this lovely creame fitted blazer for the flight down and back but is also a great layer for a night out over a dress or blouse.

BOTTOMS
- White bottoms are a vacation staple and I brought these bermuda shorts in linen blend in both the white and tan.
- Pleated slacks or trousers are all the rave right now. While I’m not the biggest fan of pleated anything (it tends to add a few unwanted pounds) these white tailored wide leg pants are fabulous!
- I also fell in love with these dressy slacks in the color dark taupe for day or night.
- Cropped everyday leggings are a must when traveling in comfort. I wore them with the fitted blazer for a dressier look.

FOOTWEAR
- For travel you must wear comfort shoes. I wore my VEJA sneakers on my flight down and back and I also wore them for sightseeing on foot. They’re both comfortable and chic.
- I always get a lot of mileage (and compliments) with these H sandals.
- A classic pair of black ballet flats are always a good idea and gives any outfit a finished touch.
- I love a good pair of platform wedge slides. These are another great option.
- Any outfit can be outfitted with these cap toe flats for that old money style.
- I brought along these pearly Birkenstocks for beaching it or as casual day wear. Nothing beats the comfort of these big buckle sandals, also looks great in black.

ACCESORIES
- Packing light means limiting the amount of bags you bring along. This beautiful tote is a splurge but it’s the perfect size for travel as the ‘personal item’ and great for beach essentials.
- I’m in love with this leather bucket handbag which also happens to hold a lot. Plus, the neutral color goes with just about anything you throw on.
- Since we’re in the era of the Birkin bags, but I refuse to purchase for the astronomical price tag, this one is second best and absolutely gorgeous for day or night! And the color is perfect with a neutral color combo.
- Never not without a classic black crossbody.
- To say I’m obsessed with lady kerchiefs or silk scarves is an understatement! I brought several with me to pair up with my outfits. This one has been a repeat offender. I also picked up this beautiful set from Anthropologie and this bold one from ZARA.
- I rarely wear belts but with the bermuda shorts and slacks I chose these skinny belts to instantly add an upscale touch to my outfit.
- I brought along this super cute two-piece swim set. It’s available in several color combos. I love my Tommy Bahama swimsuit, it’s gorgeous and totally underrated.
- Two great pairs of sunglasses I never leave the house without! These and these.
