What I Packed For Miami

It’s been snowing and raining and then ice all over New England! With over a foot of snow on the ground at home Glor and I were thrilled to escape for a few days of winter sun. My son who moved to Miami two years ago just relocated into a gorgeous high-rise condo overlooking Miami bay. Not gonna lie, it’s incredibly convenient to have a reason to fly down to the sunshine state any time I want.

For this trip I’m planning to wear shorts and slacks almost exclusively for day, with a dress or two for evening. Two of my dresses can do double duty as coverups when paired with sandals, or for a nice dinner when paired with heels. I love that Miami’s night scene is pretty energetic and polished and that the people like to dress up for dinner. I chose a semi-monochromatic and neutral palette to maximize versatility when mixing and matching outfits. With that in mind I was able to pack everything neatly in cubes into my luggage and travel with just one checked bag and one personal item. This is perfect because you gain the advantage of packing light. I hope you find my outfit picks fun while providing you some inspo for your next warm weather escape!

ACCESORIES

  • Packing light means limiting the amount of bags you bring along. This beautiful tote is a splurge but it’s the perfect size for travel as the ‘personal item’ and great for beach essentials.
  • I’m in love with this leather bucket handbag which also happens to hold a lot. Plus, the neutral color goes with just about anything you throw on.
  • Since we’re in the era of the Birkin bags, but I refuse to purchase for the astronomical price tag, this one is second best and absolutely gorgeous for day or night! And the color is perfect with a neutral color combo.
  • Never not without a classic black crossbody.
  • To say I’m obsessed with lady kerchiefs or silk scarves is an understatement! I brought several with me to pair up with my outfits. This one has been a repeat offender. I also picked up this beautiful set from Anthropologie and this bold one from ZARA.
  • I rarely wear belts but with the bermuda shorts and slacks I chose these skinny belts to instantly add an upscale touch to my outfit.
  • I brought along this super cute two-piece swim set. It’s available in several color combos. I love my Tommy Bahama swimsuit, it’s gorgeous and totally underrated.
  • Two great pairs of sunglasses I never leave the house without! These and these.
