Spring Dressing

Yay, Spring is finally here! It’s a season of transition and the weather can be so unpredictable. For this reason, Spring dressing can be somewhat of a challenge. It’s tempting to dress for the weather we want (sundresses! shorts! sandals!), while struggling with still chilly temperatures. My strategy is to stick to the basics and minimal layer to get me through until spring truly has sprung. Two of my fashion staples for Spring are dresses and a good shoe. I’m rounding up a few new favorites from each category as we await warmer weather. But first, a few tips on transitional Spring wardrobe pieces you need.🌷

CLASSIC TRANSITIONAL SPRING PIECES

  • Trench coats – This versatile apparel will not only help protect you from springtime showers but will also add an element of polish to your look. I’ve had this trench coat since 2020 and it’s such a great piece – the perfect length (midthigh) and classic color. Find my other picks for a classic trench coat here and this one here with a cute modern twist.
  • Light sweaters – We still need cozy little layers without the buldge and leaving dark colors and turtlenecks behind. Stripes are always my go-to and this pullover in a lovely robin-esque blue color (very springlike!) is a type of neutral that gives wonderful coastal grandmother vibes. Would look great over white denim. And how about this incredibly chic classic striped cardigan, alone or layered over a tee she’s perfect.
  • Denim – Finding a great pair of jeans can be a challenge, I get it. But if you narrow your options you really can find a great pair. Two faves that have been on rotation in recent years: skip the skinny and bring on the Classic straight jean in white. These belong in every girl’s wardrobe since they take you from season to season! And remember the mom jeans? They don’t call them mom jeans for nothing. They’re still very much on-trend and offer all-day comfort in stretch denim, how bad can that be.
  • Flat shoes – Because the Spring weather is so unpredictable the best thing to do is hold off on the open-toes footwear and opt for chic flats. A fantastic pair of loafers is always on trend, ballet flats are perfect with dresses and of course chic sneakers (yes, these are a thing!) for errands and beyond, will get you through the Spring elements in style.
