New Manicure Routine

Today I’m sharing a long overdue post that was inspired by the many TikToks that I’ve seen coming through my ‘For You’ page. Gone are the days where I have to schedule manicure appointments! While I know not everyone has the luxury to do this at home, my hope is that you get inspired to find the time to do so.

Ever since Covid I think the manicure industry has found a way to price gouge their services. Not to mention those same services have become of poor quality since they tend to rush the job in order to get in as many clients as possible. The more people I talk to the more I find they feel the same way. I decided I don’t want to continue to look for new reputable salons and then having to pay for even higher prices. Thanks to TikTok I learned to do my own nails at home. Saving myself time, frustration and yes, money. It’s a win win.

I love doing the Dip Nail method and prefer it over Gel Nails. I find that it is much more gentle on my natural nails and way easier to maintain. It took me several sessions before I got it down to a science. I’m a righty so the hardest part was learning to do my right hand fingers with a steady left hand. Now I absolutely love it and wouldn’t do my nails any other way.

My daughter-in-law was sweet enough to gift me a great electric nail drill set. It is absolutely fabulous and definitely makes a world of a difference. It’s much easier and quicker than using handheld buffers and filers. Now I can do my nails whenever I want and my daughter’s too.

I had been struggling for quite some time about what to do regarding my manicure conundrum. Thankfully TikTok was the ultimate influencer in what to do. I watched severeal short how-to videos and voilà my manicure concerns have been settled. I couldn’t be happier doing my own nails. I enjoy my alone time doing them or with my daughter. Besides, I love learning new things especially when it comes to personal things like these and I get to teach my daughter as well. The only time I will still visit the salon will be for my pedicures since I don’t have that nailed down just yet, no pun intended…

I hope my learning something new can inspire you too.

I purchased all of my manicure items from Amazon and you can find them in my Amazon Storefront under BEAUTY & SELF CARE. The brands are all new to me but so far they have been of great quality.
