Refinished Hardwood Floors

I’m a little behind posting about our recently refinished hardwood floors. It’s been a messy and quite honestly, a very disruptive experience when you have a household full of people. But, alas, we’re done with the project and now I’m currently trying to place things back together again. Today I’m sharing the before and after of the floors. I’ll have a followup post after I get everything squared away.

On a side note: one of the best things about doing a big project around the house, besides the finished product, is that I get to purge and start fresh all over again!

In my last post I featured dark floor inspirations and what kind of finish I was aiming for. I really wanted a darker tone than what we originally had. I wasn’t happy with the light finish and I found they didn’t necessarily look great with an all-white kitchen. I was ready for a bolder but not overly dramatic look. I think we achieved it with the Provincial finish from DuraSeal in a satin coating.

And now for the before and afters! Keep in mind the lighting varies slightly. We’ve had nothing but grey skies in recent weeks but nonetheless, you can clearly see the difference dark floors make. I’ve begun putting most of my furniture back in place while making some decor adjustments. I’m still waiting on some items to be delivered and as soon as those arrive and I’ll finish organizing everything. I’ll have a followup post where you’ll see the finished spaces.šŸ¤—

I’m really, really happy with the end results! I love how the dark wood gives off a more stately appearance. I’m going to have fun keeping these floors sparkling clean!šŸ™ˆ

I hope this serves as inspirations/ideas for your next flooring project. I promise everything will look so much better once the rooms are organized. Rosa: the floors are perfect and gorgeous! Love the color and sheen. The deeper color is classic and is spot- on in your house. The wall colors and kitchen cabs look absolutely fabulous against those floors. Iā€™m looking forward to pics of the completed rooms. The whole process is taxing no matter the excellence of the craftsmen. Glad you are in the home stretch.
