Pre-Fall Transitional Style

Too soon for pumpkins and gourds if you ask me but definitely not too soon for the light layers. I love the early days of the pre fall season. Slowly new bold colors make their way and so does transitional style pieces. It’s currently the focus of my wardrobe and I welcome it. After Labor Day I’ll officially begin packing my summer clothes for storage and make room for the new season.

For this outfit I have a couple of things I want to point out. First, the obvious, the long and lean light cardigan. This is a wardrobe staple regardless of the season. For me, I tend to wear them mostly during the early fall before I have to pull out jackets. I love that this one is light, airy and practical. This one is on sale, comes in a variety of great fall colors and is true to size.

Next is the Ponte knit sheath dress. I love sheath dresses and wear them all the time. The Ponte material is slightly thicker and great for when the temps start to dip a little. I love the short sleeves and the body hugging look that is feminine and classy. Clearly a dress like this can easily be dressed up with heels or boots or like I did, with a new favorite pair of kicks for a fun casual day look.

Lastly, I just added these Keds to my sneaker collection. A collection that as of late has been quietly growing. I’ve never been a huge fan of sneakers, except of course for when working out but I’ve slowly warmed up to the idea of incorporating them in my outfits more often. Since my ankle injury earlier this year sneakers definitely made my recovery a lot easier.

I immediately fell in love with them as soon as I saw them! They brought back a slew of memories of the original Keds I wore as a kid. Those didn’t have the espadrille soles and were usually all white leather. Back in Brooklyn where I grew up we used to call them ‘skippies.’

When I put them on, let me tell you, they are the most cushiony sneakers I think I’ve ever owned. The fit is great, although I feel like I could have gone a half size up because of the canvas material, but other than that, they are just fabulous. Their simple neutral style with the jute sole looks great with just about anything you put on.

Hope everyone has a great long Labor Day weekend! Thanks for visiting.🤗
