Summer Crochets + Knits

Today’s #ootd brings on two conversation topics, the first is “snapchat” and the second, unsightly bruises…Are any of you on snapchat? Recently I’ve come across lots and lots of bloggers signing up and suggesting people to do so as well. Honestly I’m not so sure I want to. More importantly, do I need to be part of yet another social network…

As much as I enjoy social media, I feel like I don’t need to be part of every new app that arises. Anybody else feel me? Besides, is it really useful and if it is, what exactly for? Or will it be another “myspace” and die out soon anyway? 

The first time I heard about it was through my teenage kids months ago. They seem to enjoy it and have lots of fun with it so I asked them if it was something I should do.  They gave me a big fat NO for an answer. What do you guys think? Is it worth taking the time to join?  And if you use it, what do you use it for? Keep me posted…

As for my bruises well I amaze myself at how clumsy I can be at times. Corners seem to be my enemies. Whether a table, a chair, an ottoman, you name it, just about anything with a corner seems to find my legs. At home, at work, at the grocery store, really anywhere! Sometimes I forgo an outfit because I found a new bruise and it looks awful. Anyway that’s how I end up with them and from chasing after Coco or playing with my daughter, lol. Back to the outfit. How cute is this combo! Living in the northeast means 90+ degree weather during the hot summer days and then a steep drop in the evening. Hence the girly shorts and a fabulous knit. These two items are a must for me. I’m typically cold and during the summertime I combine these because I know how quickly the temps drop.

The open knit sweater gives you just the right amount of warmth without heaviness. When paired with shorts you end up with the best of both worlds. The dark lacy shorts and strappy heels adds a touch of glam. It’s the perfect combination for dinner al fresco or for cocktails with the bff. 

If I were gonna do a lot of walking I’d stick with a pair of comfy flats or wedges. The bucket bag is the perfect utility bag for storing a change of shoes, a camera, bottle of water, beauty essentials and for any newfound treasures along the way.
