One of my favorite things to do when I go to Newport is to set sail. I recently wrote a post on what you can do in Newport if you’re visiting. Did you get a chance to read it? If not, you can catch it here. One of the things I mention on the list is sailing.
Over the Memorial holiday weekend we ventured off on a sunset sail around Narangansett bay to catch the sunset. Though it was still very much chilly it didn’t matter much because the golden hour at The Classic Coast never gets old.
I was glad to have packed one of my favorite sweaters with me. I’ve had this one for several years and for good reason. It’s so soft and cozy! Unfortunately L.L.Bean doesn’t carry it anymore, but they did come out with a new version of the sweater. However, the fisherman sweater, synonymous with all things sailing is the classic one to wear when you’re out to sea, or for a chilly day on the coast. I have two great ones but I just love the bold stripes of the one I’m wearing. And of course a pair of white denim, the summer wardrobe staple.
My girl seems to be going through a growing spurt these days. She’s definitely getting taller and taller by the minute,(I hope she ends up taller than me 😉). She’s wearing women’s clothing these days, just in the smallest sizes available. The white denim is the petite girlfriend jeans from LOFT (30% OFF! code: sunny). You really can’t appreciate the magnificence of great architecture until you’re up close to it. Sailing under the Newport Bridge (or any bridge) is really something to admire. The sun setting in the distance was magical and truly beautiful to enjoy at sea. Nothing compares to the beauty of nature at it’s best. The creator of the heavens and the earth really knew what he was doing.
