Fall and winter seasons are my favorite time of year to be by the fire for obvious reasons. The cold days and early sunsets makes me want to snuggle up with a cozy blanket and a good book. I work extra hard at making our spaces cozy especially when we have to spend so much time indoors. Today I’m sharing my little cozy nook by the fireplace that you can recreate with a few accessories from Wayfair.

CLEAN & UNCLUTTERED
Since I don’t celebrate the holidays, I skip on all the decor flourishes that come this time of year. I make the most of my fireplace by keeping the area uncluttered with minimal decor. During the winter months we use our fireplace almost on a daily basis. Because we burn so much wood it is vital we maintain the hearth clean and tidy and part of any cozy decor includes spaces that are orderly. Since a fireplace is always the center of any room the hearth must be kept in tip-top shape.
LAYERS
As with our outfits, we must add layers for a cozy look. But not too many layers or else you may look messy. I opted for this amazingly soft faux fur throw blanket. PILLOWS & CANDLES
No cozy look is ever complete without pillows and candles. IMO you can never have enough pillows and swapping out your pillows with the season’s colors and patterns is a must. I’ve incorporated a couple of my favorite plaid pillows for a classic winter look. You can keep them at arm’s reach in this fantastic large wicker basket, the perfect rustic touch for any decor. And let’s not forget the candles. They are always a good idea. Whether on the floor, on a coffee table or on the mantle, candles bring cozy to another level.
