A Diana Coastal Wedding

I wasn’t sure exactly how to approach this post and it took me a month to put it together. Needless to say it has been an incredibly emotional summer for me so far and one I will never forget. I hope you can appreciate this post of our family having some of the best time ever. All with the best weather possible that New England had to offer in late June!

I wish I could offer some tips and tricks on planning a wedding but I have none. Since it was my son that got married, by virtue of traditions I was not involved in any of the planning, only in some minor suggestions. My turn to plan a wedding will eventually come when my daughter’s time arrives. Nonetheless this was truly an amazing wedding, a beautiful one and a well done one that the two of them put together.

June 30, 2022, OceanCliff Resort, Newport, RI

Vinny asked his younger brother Frank to be his best man and his youngest brother Tony a groomsman. Taylor asked Gloria to be her junior bridesmaid.

I won’t go into details about the wedding day as you can see by the photos you can pretty much tell how the day went. I did not take any of these photos myself, they were all taken by Caitlin Kershaw Photography. She did an outstanding job capturing the beautiful scenic view of Newport and its surrounding coastal areas as well as OceanCliff and its perfectly manicured grounds. We’re absolutely thrilled with the results. I had to restrain myself from posting too many photos and not over doing it. These are literally a few from the hundreds in the collection of shots that Caitlin took of the wedding day…

(warning: get ready for a photo dump)

Whew, I hope you made it this far.

Clearly there was so much more that happened, was done and said that just can’t be expressed in a single post or a few paragraphs. I didn’t post photos of ‘the cocktail hour’ since it would’ve been so much more, instead I focused on the main event and part of the reception and festivities.

The best man gave a speech and a toast to the happy couple followed by the most sentimental speech given by the junior bridesmaid that no one expected, least of all Vinny. She literally had most of the audience in tears, a moment everyone is still talking about and we will not soon forget. Finally the maid of honor gave a speech followed by a toast and then everyone erupted into cheers!

As is with all weddings, magic happened and this one far exceeded all expectations. I couldn’t be more proud of my son and his lovely bride Taylor. Please join me in wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness. Cheers to the new generation of Mr. & Mrs. Vincent L. Diana III.🥂
