Plaid Wrap Coat

Today we officially welcome the winter season. Since it’s been unusually mild around here this entire fall season I guess it’s high time the temperatures finally drop, and drop they have. The plaid season is also in full swing so I wanted to take the opportunity to share this bold plaid wrap coat that I’m absolutely obsessed with.

For my fall and winter wardrobe I try to look for well-made peices that will stand the test of time. Tuckernuck, one of my favorite retailers, recently launched a collection highlighting outfit ideas mimicking that of Ali MacGraw’s wardrobe from ‘Love Story’. The same could be said about the plaid wrap coat I’m wearing. I think it could easily be mistaken for one from Ali’s 1970’s outfits, albeit with a modern silhouette.

This plaid wrap coat is made with a mix of wool and a touch of cashmere for that hint of luxury without the price tag. It has two hidden button front closures (you can easily go without) and a belt that allows for a lovely custom fit with a beautiful drape. The notched collar completes the look and is what gives that timeless appeal. Runs TTS, slightly roomy for layering with heavier sweaters, and is also availble in limited sizes in solid black or camel.
