As soon as spring arrives and it’s warm enough, I line up all of the classic warm weather dresses I can find. Throughout the winter I wear jeans so naturally when I finally throw on a dress I get super excited about it. I have to admit I’m particularly fond of midi dresses these days. There was a time where shorter lengths was a thing for me but as my age dictates, I have a new found love and appreciation for below the knee dresses. And I love that they compliment every body shape, style and age. With midi dresses I try to stay away from styles that include ruffles. This dress has slight ruffles as part of the hem giving it a nice touch along with eyelet details. And I think it actually adds the appearance of height to my otherwise average stature. But any more layers of ruffles above and it would not be as flattering. I prefer sleek lines and unless you’re incredibly slender ruffles tend to make a person look so much fuller, in essence grander than normal. In all seriousness, that my friends, is not at all what I’m hoping to accomplish. Any time you can trim an inch here or there, I’m all in. As I had discussed on this post, buttons on anything up top tends to make my bust area look like its popping out so I decided to go up a size with the dress. It worked out nicely but I still think my regular size would’ve given me a more slightly tailored look.An additional favorite item added to my spring outfit are the espadrille wedges. I’m obsessed with these shoes and love wearing them. They’re comfortable, they give me additional height and they’re so totally chic! Wrapping the ties around the ankle is a great feature and are incredibly popular during much of the warm weather months. I’m currently crushing on these which I think will make my summer outfits go up a notch!
