Spring doesn’t seem to want to arrive this year. With less than a week to go before the official start to Spring and we get a fresh new coat of snow. Waiting for the weather to cooperate for photo shoots is a hard thing to do here in the northeast, hence the reason you haven’t seen new style posts as of late, but I’m trying. So I’ve got to work with what I’ve got. Here I am in the midst of this beautiful country winter wonderland relentlessly trying to get in an outfit shoot.
I originally intended to wear this dress with either wedges or some sort of open toe shoes and maybe a cute jacket for Spring but obviously that wasn’t the case. Instead we went with the boots as the next best option. I must say the look worked out pretty well. It feels like preppy meets winter nautical vibes. I love the detailed lace up of the dress and I love anything with stripes, so this pick was a no brainer. It has long sleeves and made of French Terry material which is incredibly soft and cozy! I found this gem at Old Navy and right now it’s on sale for under $30 and also comes in a solid heather grey. It’s a great little piece that can be added to your ‘classics’ wardrobe pile. I will certainly be styling this dress for weeks to come.

It’s outfits like this one that make the extra purchase of an accessory so worth it. Thank goodness for my Hunter tall cable-knit welly socks! They sure came in handy keeping my feet and legs warm. It wasn’t drastically cold so the need for more cover wasn’t necessary but as you can see it was a little windy. The original tall Hunter Boots are currently on sale (which is a rarity!) for under $90! If you haven’t invested in a pair of these guys I highly suggest you do, they are stylish, practical and you won’t be disappointed!
My North Face parka is an oldie but goodie. I’ve had it for at least 10 years and it’s another one of those investments that are worth the price tag. I’ve linked the newer version of this parka and it’s also on sale! This time of the year is the perfect time to grab some of the great winter coats you’ve been eyeing at a much lower price.
