A New York Minute Family Trip

Today I’m sharing a little recap of our recent weekend trip to New York City. And as the title suggests, a weekend in New York felt more like a New York minute! The day before we left the forecast showed snow was expected for the weekend so I couldn’t wait to experience our first snowfall this winter in the city!

I have to admit that trying to take photos with such a big group as ours was became somewhat of a challenge. Everyone was in their own ‘moment’ and hearing mom say, “stop, lets take a photo” was not at all what they wanted to do especially with snow coming down hard, huge crowds and cold temps. But I didn’t succumb to the groans. I’m happy to report that I was able to capture some nice candid moments.

We hopped on the train and headed to the city quite comfortably and on time. Upon our arrival it began to snow! Our first stop was the hotel to drop off our bags and grab a late breakfast. Our weekend fun began at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum.Winter white and some snow.NYC 2017Regardless of the season New York City is a sight to behold. But I think it is especially pretty during the holiday season because of all the lights that are added to the already lit city. Rockefeller Center is such a great and beautiful tourist stop. The giant lit tree and skaters dancing around looked like a scene straight out of a Hollywood movie. The snow falling was particularly beautiful and added somewhat of a magical feel to our visit. We eventually made our way through the city in all the pretty madness. We had an amazing dinner at Tommy Bahama Restaurant. You work your way up these stairs from the main floor where the shop is held. The food was incredible and the service just as fabulous, highly recommend!

A new favorite restaurant is the Tommy Bahama Restaurant located in Midtown Manhattan. We had a blast and the menu was amazing to say the least! We toppled over a little of my Eggnog Martini with all the excitement. The following day we chose to go the scenic route through Central Park with a brunch at Tavern On The Green. Brought Gloria to her favorite shop, American Girl and continued our way through the city for more sightseeing and some shopping! The time in the city was well spent. These pics are just a glimpse of some of the fun that was had by all. I couldn’t possibly post every single picture I took. The weather was marvelous and the kids were all such troopers! I can’t wait to go back, perhaps in the spring, or maybe we’ll squeeze another visit before the year is over, but that may just be a tad ambitious of me… Cheers and until next post!
