#nsale Fitting Room Diary

I have a confession to share with you; I hate trying on clothes while shopping! I much prefer making another trip back to the mall for returns or exchanges than to take the extra few minutes to try on clothes. Because of that reason I only tried on a couple of things during my Nordstrom shopping trip. I legit prefer to purchase items online anyway, and I did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive.

I didn’t go crazy buying things because to be honest, most of the items are repeats from previous years or of items I already have, say, cardigans, tees, booties and the like. Unless you’re living under a rock or are just moving up to cooler temps from a hot climate, there’s just nothing new to get for your fall wardrobe, unless of course you’re in need of the latest style of Tory Burch riding boots, which btw is the ONLY item I truly still really want! I tried them on in TWO bigger sizes to no avail. I’m terribly upset they don’t make them in wide calf sizes!

I did find a couple of new items to refresh my fall wardrobe and can’t wait to style them. This is perhaps the biggest down side to shopping in the middle of summer for cooler temps, I can’t wear them yet…

The booties are a great buy at under $90 and look sooo chic! These I will be able to transition nicely now through the end of fall. Price will go up to $140 after the sale!

This bright yellow split back bell sleeve top is fabulous at just $46! It’s a great color for the fall season and the details make it great dressed up with a pencil skirt or a little more casual like I did here with these skinny crop high waist jeans
One particular item I’m always looking for to help transition into the fall weather are sleeveless tops. They’re perfect for now and then again later under cardis when the temps dip. This sleeveless lace top tank is both roomy and girly with pretty lace detail and also comes in a blush color. The cardigan has a lovely ruffle trim on the back bottom and is currently at $58.90, will be $89 after the sale! Both items together create a lovely soft look for the fall.

The Sole Society satchel is a nice neutral bag that will pair with anything you wear. Currently priced at $52, it’s roomy and very trendy and a hot ticket item!  I also picked these gorgeous Bauble Bar tassel earrings and I’ve been wearing them non-stop! They have a nice weight to them and don’t look cheap at all, currently priced at $27.90.I tried these jeans on with the sole purpose of styling some tops when I fell in love with them and brought them home with me! I have a hard time finding distressed denim that isn’t too distressed, not to mention I need curvy cuts, which are harder to find. These are seriously more flattering than a boyfriend fit and definitely more comfortable than skinnies. The denim material is super light, perfect in this 80+ degree weather. I also love how the distressed look is not overly done making them look cool. They have a lot of give, so you may need to size down. Currently under $60! I also grabbed this cozy thermal pullover and already wore it while in Newport on a chilly morning. It is sooo soft! This is a must for fall and winter. Runs big but looks great half tucked and eventually layered over a great shirt. Currently $24.90 ($38 after sale) I ordered it in the charcoal as well! I’ve linked a couple others that make great basics.Another item I really wanted was this Barbour quilted vest! I love anything Barbour. Their outdoor clothing line is amazing! I already own this jacket and I absolutely love it! It’s not part of the #nsale but I highly recommend you get one. When I saw the quilted vest I jumped immediately to get it. In fact when I was ordering it online the site crashed! I was so afraid it would sell out that I phoned in the order at my local Nordstrom and then dashed to pick it up! It has such a cute layer of florals inside and the feel is soft and warm. I wore it one evening while out for dinner by the water in Newport. You’ll see more posts of this piece in the fall! One last thing I want to share is this amazing throw blanket, (currently $58.90 will be $89!) It is HUGE, super duper soft and chunky! I love the knotted rope look and feel of it, a nautical trend that’s big these days. Something you may not know about me is that I learned to crochet when I was a little girl but I’ve been kinda lazy about it for some time now. I’m inspired to make my own chunky throw, hopefully before the fall season arrives. In the meantime this one is the perfect one to cozy up with in the chilly nights!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my fitting room diary. Most of the items are in stock at the time of this publishing with some already sold out. The sale ends August 6 with prices going up August 7. Nordstrom is really good at restocking, so if you see something and it’s sold out make sure to check back before August 7 to try and get the best deals!
