Ok, so first thing’s first. America’s premier flower show returns this year June 23rd thru the 25th and the theme is “Fete Des Fleurs: Paintings and Parterres.” As always the show will be held on the historic grounds of Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.
This show kicks-off the Newport social season with the much-anticipated Opening Night Cocktail Party on Friday, June 23 at 6:00 p.m., featuring a lavish cocktail buffet, live music and other exciting surprises and continues through the weekend with themed floral designs, horticultural exhibits, garden displays, unique shopping and free lectures. This event, in my opinion, is like the Kentucky Derby in overdrive! You’re likely to run into notable socialites, celebrities, authors and of course super talented florists!
So, what do you wear to an event like this? Think Tuckernut, Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade of course! The event usually attracts prep style and you can probably count in one hand at any given day the amount of women who forgot to wear their hats.
