CLASSIC STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKES

Serving Size:
6
Time:
15 MIN
Difficulty:
EASY

Ingredients

  • 1 package pre-made biscuits
  • 1 carton organic strawberries (washed, rinsed and dried)
  • 1 can whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • ½ cup sugar

Directions

  1. This is optional, although it’s preferred. After washing and rinsing your strawberries, pat dry and cut into bite size pieces. Place into a medium bowl and add sugar. Combine well and set aside or refrigerate for an hour. Sugaring the strawberries and letting them sit (macerating) makes a loose strawberry sauce.
  2. Once you have your loose juice start to assemble your cakes.
  3. (You can serve the biscuits cold or at room temperature.) Slice the biscuits in half. On the bottom half of the biscuit, layer strawberries and sauce and some whipped cream. Then place the other half of the biscuit on top.
