Just last week I had the pleasure to attend a fantastic dinner event. The Hadley + Occum Farm Dinner was a first farm-to-table dinner for me. The event took place at Sub Edge Farm located in beautiful Farmington, CT and featured an amazing display of delectables by the talented chef at A’vert Brasserie. Needless to say it was a fantastic summer evening and I even made some new friends…
The tables were set beautifully in country style decor making Sub Edge Farm the picture perfect setting for this farm-to-table dinner. Leading the culinary event was A’Vert’s Executive Chef Jared Posocco joined by other local partners like Yardbird & Co, Lets Start From Scratch, Hartford Baking Co. and New Park Brewing.
Perhaps my most favorite appetizer of the evening, if you can call it that, was the fantastic boozy popsicles made of delicate wines and berries by Lets Start From Scratch.

Adhoc Fluke en Papillote (Stonington Red Shrimp, Zucchini, Kohlrabi, Fine Herbs)
Duck Breast (Pickled Blueberry & Ginger Gastrique, Lyonnaise Potatoes)
And my favorite part of the meal, Butterscotch Cremeux with Macaron & Rosemary (Caramel & Chantilly Creme)
Chef Posocco outdid himself with the main dishes for this fantastic dinner. Everything featured was beyond amazing. More than anything else I love how local partners come together and collaborate to create a fun event where everyone involved gets to showcase their best. I honestly can’t think of anything better!
