I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with fellow mom bloggers for a ‘lunch and learn’ event sponsored by Comcast to learn about Xfinity X1. And indeed there was so much to learn. As a Comcast subscriber with Xfinity X1 I didn’t know my family and I had so many amazing features available at our fingertips
One of the most important things I learned about was the ‘Kids Zone Search‘ feature that Comcast launched earlier this year. It provides parents like myself peace of mind with a safe and secure experience for kids to independently explore their favorite content.
My 7 year old daughter can now search safely within Kids Zone for her favorite TV series, movies and channels by using the remote to type the desired program. And with parental control you can easily lock in your kids’ preferences without having to worry they’ll navigate to other channels.
The other awesome feature I learned about was the new ‘voice remote!’ The new Xfinity remote with voice control lets viewers search for networks, shows and movies; set DVR recordings; get recommendations; navigate Xfinity On Demand and more. Just press the blue button, say what you want to watch and it appears on screen. So when my daughter is searching for something all she has to do is ask the remote. Genius!
And if you happen to have a bilingual family like I do you’re in luck. Comcast is now expanding the feature to better serve Spanish-speaking customers with the launch of the Spanish Talking Guide. When turned on, a female voice will read aloud selections like program titles, network names and time slots as well as DVR and On Demand settings in Spanish, helping viewers decide what to watch.
Another awesome feature I learned about was the XFINITY Home system and app. You can feel at ease and look after your home, family and valuables from anywhere by getting 24/7 professional monitoring. Receive text and email alerts, live video monitoring, lighting and thermostat control and more with this all-inclusive home security system with Xfinity X1! And with Xfinity’s X1 new Share app customers can live stream or send photos and recorded videos to their TV, or to the TV of another X1 customer as well as live stream and share content to mobile phones. Capturing live moments just got so much better. With the new share app grandma in California won’t miss her granddaughter baking cookies in Connecticut!
