Welcome back friends. Hope you all had a super fun weekend! Summer is finally in full swing and today’s style post is an ode to the classic LBD, and an inconvenient truth…Dress, Ann Taylor, this is a great alternative! | Sunnies, Heels & Earrings, Express | Clutch & Anchor bracelet, vintage finds | “Infamous” Lips, Estee LauderWould you believe me if I told you I purchased this dress months ago during the winter holidays? I wanted to write a post about it then but I could never find the appropriate time to do so. I wore it just a couple times, this being the second, because it was just too darn cold out for it! That’s what I don’t understand about fashion, sometimes styles don’t always match the season. So on a recent trip to Newport I brought it along with me. It was the perfect piece for dinner by the water’s edge.
A classic LBD has endless possibilities for coordinating with accessories. I already had a small bag with me to use with the dress but while rummaging through some vintage boutiques earlier in the day I came across this cute straw clutch with a compass design on it and the anchor bracelet. I thought they added the perfect touch of summer whimsy and so appropriate for the moment!
I don’t believe the LBD should be reserved for cocktails, evenings or formal affairs anymore. As you can see, classic black for summer is fun to wear while the sun is still out.

That dress is LBD perfection!

Glad this dress finally had a chance to shine! I feel like I often have the same problem, I when it’s warm enough to wear my black dresses, I more often want to wear something more summery, bright and white! But the scalloped lace on this dress is simply stunning and I love the shot of the lighthouse reflected in your sunglasses!
