Hello lovely friends! I was thinking the other day; it seems to me that no other time of the year does sequins sparkle as beautifully as it does during the winter nights. Don’t you agree?
Sequins Top, Ann Taylor
Button Shirt, J. Crew | Skirt, Ann Taylor
Mary Janes, Calvin Klein, these would look fabulous!
Necklace, Benevolent Jewels | Bracelet, vintage find
Head Band, Francesca’s Collections | Bag, old, similar here
Because of all the festivities going on during the last two months of the year, wearing items that sparkle and shine is something we can all dive into. We don’t have to wait for a wedding invite or a black tie gala to wear sequins, yay!
I wanted to capture the lovely shine of sequins at night. For this night scene I chose basic colors to create a monochromatic look, one that would be simple and elegant. I don’t know if its the little girl in me that thinks about fairy tales and glittery costumes when it comes to sequins, but boy, do I love to wear sparkly things. And when I do, I do so in moderation, trying really hard not to over do it, because ya know, you really can over do it with sparkles. Hence the preppy/conservative office type/happy hour-brunch attire. Boring, I think not; festive, definitely; over done, no way, and how about modern-chic, oh yeah, mission accomplished!
What do you think of winter sequins and things that glitter in the night lights?
