Cozy sweater weather is in full force. And although you wouldn’t know it by some of my recent posts, like this one here and here, but I actually hate wearing sweaters…
Hat & Sweater, Ann Taylor | Lipstick, Maybelline #630 (Red Revolution)
Shirt, J. Crew Factory | Sunnies, Versace via Macy’s
Jeans, Express | Pumps, last season, Target, similar | Bag, Kate Spade, last season
Don’t get me wrong, I love what sweaters are made for. I love to see others wear them and often compliment people when I see a really cute one. But what I hate is the burdensome bulkiness that is often the end result especially when you have to layer them.
This time of year the shops are obviously flooded with so many gorgeous sweaters, from the traditional fisherman, I really love this one or the basic cable knit to the ugly sweater everyone seems to want nowadays. Normally I have to layer my sweater because the wool itches too much. This time I layered because it’s a light sweater and I need the extra layer of warmth. Other times the fit is too boxy and I end up looking like a snowman. Finding a sweater that is forgiving when it comes to curves can be a little frustrating. This one happened to have it all, a great fit, feel, style and a nice color scheme. Because I like details and patterns I can’t go wrong with a cozy fair isle.
What’s your take on sweaters?
xx, Rosa
You look fab! I love that sweater on you! I adore sweaters and layers. You can always remove a layer if you get annoyed.
Hey Carolann, you’re so right about that, lol. Thanks for stopping by! -R
You are so rocking this Fair Isle sweater – love the shoes with it too!!! Wishing you the best of the holidays too!

Thanks Lindsey! 🙂
I live in them once the temp goes below 24C.
I haven’t any Fair Isle style ones, but have four heavier knits with ( one crew, one turtleneck and two V-necks ) that are great for the weekends over shirts and turtlenecks.
I have five cashmere turtlenecks that cost the earth, but are soooo comfy and stylish 🙂
…and there’s a small collection of ribbed turtlenecks in all colours.
Autumn and winter isn’t autumn and winter for me without a sweater !
