Working with Prints

Today it’s all about mixing prints. And although I’m showcasing just one outfit, the point I want to drive home is that pattern mixing is fun and super easy to put together. Take note however, I tend to err on the conservative side, but the idea remains the same.

There was a time when I felt that one had to perfectly “match” an entire outfit. I no longer feel the same. In fact, mixing patterns and prints has become a staple in my everyday life. From my outfits to table wear to bedroom linens. Everywhere we turn we can find a mix of prints and colors,  after all, nature is our best example of pattern design!

photoThis outfit’s print mix is very simple and understated, nothing too fussy or complicated.  I paired the shirt’s blue and white print with black slacks, (a break from the old thought that one should not mix black and blue). My choice for accent were the leopard print shoes and belt. Feminine, chic and totally adaptable! And the pearl necklace gives the whole look an elegant touch. FYI, I was trying to keep my Coco from causing a photo bomb, lol…
