This is a common scenario in my life: I meet someone new and we discuss all sorts of things including my family and in particular my children. They are instantly surprised to hear how many kids I have. Then the question that always follows is the same, “how old are you?”
All my life it really didn’t matter to me much when someone asked me about my age. Now more than ever it’s not a bother at all. Needless to say, I’m insanely flattered by their reactions when I tell the magic number. Some say it’s genetics and others think it’s part of my culture; maybe. Then you have some who think I just happen to be plain lucky; perhaps. Personally I think it’s a little of all of the above with a sprinkle of common sense. I also happen to be a loyal customer of Lancome High Resolution products and I have been for many years.
I don’t follow an outrageous skincare ritual, who’s got time for that, seriously! I basically try to remove my makeup before going to bed, unfortunately not always successful. I also wash my face every morning. However, there are two things I do religiously. One, I wear sunscreen and a moisturizer every single day of my life! And two, here’s where the common sense thing kicks in, I don’t smoke and I never lay out to tan! Everyone knows that smoking and sun rays kills your skin, among other things, but we’ll stick to beauty here. I also don’t drink on a regular basis. I enjoy the casual glass of Merlot or Pinot Noir as much as the next fashionista but I always do so in moderation.
I personally know of other women my age who smoke or drink and tan on a regular basis. By that I mean in an unhealthy fashion. If you were to pile us together for a class reunion you will clearly see a big difference. The results from years of smoking, drinking and tanning versus some one like me who doesn’t do those things are incredible. Taking good care of your skin really does start from within but the things you put on it makes a difference too.
If you’re like me and already have a base for great skin, continue to take good care of it. Drink lots of water and try to get good rest. And give it a boost of love from wonderful creams and lotions. The selections out there are endless. But if you don’t know where to start, here are just a few of the products I swear by.
Lancome has a fabulous Skincare line as well as a wonderful makeup selection. They have a very wide variety of products but I prefer the High Resolution set. It focuses mainly on moisturizing with the added benefits of wrinkle repair. I’ve tried other brands over the years, from other high end sets to the affordable ones from the local pharmacy. I always go back to Lancome. Again, there are so many out there to choose from so you might have to try a few before you can find one that works well for you.
As for Lancome’s Makeup line, it is fabulous! I LOVE the Hypnose Drama mascara! I have tried so many different ones and this one is definitely my favorite. Long thick lashes is what I want and this mascara delivers! Their lipsticks and shadows are insanely beautiful with seasonal colors. And their lip glosses (I’m a gloss girl, I prefer it over the lipstick) are so pretty and smell sooo good, love ’em!
I’ve given you my regimen for great skin. You can start your own regimen with a basic set from Lancome. And almost always they throw in a few little extras. Remember though, no cream in the world will undue years of extreme damage, but it’s never to late to start treating your skin with a little extra love. If you get a chance to try these let me know how it worked for you.
