6 Fabulous Fall Must Haves

We are well into the beautiful fall season! The colors abound and the air is crisp. I am happy to share with you some of my personal fall must haves!

1. SHIRTS  These are probably the most versatile items anyone could have in their wardrobe. The colors, the patterns and the styles are endless. Whether classic, fitted or boyfriend cut, shirts are the easiest to come by.

2. BLAZER  Every season can use a great blazer but in the fall these are usually preferred. They are also the easiest way to “dress up” a casual look. I’ll throw one over a light sweater or shirt (or both) with jeans or leggings and finish off with either a scarf or a statement necklace.

3. SCARF  The scarf is obviously an easy item to find for the fall wardrobe. But don’t just wear it to keep you warm. Whether its an over-sized scarf, an infinity or a traditional, scarves add a burst of pop to your outfit. (Burberry over-sized scarf and a Faux Fur Infinity scarf by Ann Taylor)

4. LEGGINGS  This item has made a huge impact on our casual wardrobe today. They are easy to wear and add a great silhouette to your overall look especially when paired with boots. But use discretion when wearing these. Be careful not to step out the door without full coverage!

3. BOOTS  These are the fall staple in my opinion! The styles and colors are pretty much unlimited. There seems to be a huge following for riding or equestrian style boots and the all time favorite rain boot. They happen to be my favorites and I wear them quite often.

4. PEA COAT  When the weather starts to dip this classic coat comes out to play.

5. VESTS  In the fall vests are always appropriate and fun to coordinate. Like a scarf, the vest can pull it all together with a pop of color or pattern. (A Forever 21 faux-fur vest (2010 season) dresses up a casual look. The fleece alumni vest for a school game is chic and warm. Beware of boxy vests that can be unflattering.)

6. PULLOVER SWEATER  The ultimate fall essential. Early in the season you can wear your pullovers on their own. As the days get colder you begin to layer them with some of your other favorite pieces. Sweaters mark the time for warmth and comfort in style.
