Cottage Cheese Blueberry Scones

These Cottage Cheese & Blueberry Scones Are My New Favorite Protein-Packed Treat

I love a good scone, especially one that doesn’t leave me crashing an hour later. These cottage cheese and blueberry scones hit the sweet spot: soft, slightly sweet, and packed with protein thanks to the not-so-secret ingredient—cottage cheese.

Before you scroll past (I know cottage cheese has a reputation), hear me out. It melts into the dough, giving the scones a tender, almost creamy texture without making them dense or heavy. Add a handful of juicy blueberries and you’ve got something that feels indulgent but actually keeps you full.

They’re also incredibly easy to make. No mixer needed. You’ll stir everything together in one bowl: cottage cheese, flour and a dash of sugar (you can also use honey or maple syrup). Then gently fold in the blueberries. The dough is a little sticky, but once you shape it into a large round (or multiple small rounds or wedges) and pop it in the oven, your kitchen will smell amazing.

Perfect for breakfast with coffee, or as a mid-afternoon snack that won’t have you reaching for another granola bar. And bonus: they freeze well, so you can make a batch ahead and have something ready when the craving hits.

Let me know if you try them, I think you’ll be surprised how good (and good for you) they are.
