Wearing dresses during the winter months isn’t my go-to but every so often I like to break from the monotony of wearing jeans. A simple shirtdress does the trick every time!
Confession: I’m not a skirt kind of gal. Never really have been and I don’t think I’ll be adding them to my wardrobe anytime soon. It’s a bummer because there are sooo many cute skirts I’d love to wear! I just hate the feeling of a hugging waistline, especially since I’ve added to my circumference in recent years. The skirts I used to gravitate toward were A-line or pencil skirts but I always found myself tugging at them, so they’re now off my list.
A shirtdress however, is my most loved style of dresses to wear. I think I’ve mentioned that before. They’re easy, relaxed and very flattering to most shapes and sizes. They come in different lengths and with different arm cuts so there isn’t a shortage of style. The blackwatch plaid print I’m wearing is a classic for this time of year. I have several pieces with this print and I indulge during the season to wear them as often as I can, along with fair isle and tartans. This particular dress has sold out but I found a near identical one. I was also super happy to find this cute doggy jacket for Coco in a similar print and just in time since she just got a little trim. It has a sherpa lining to keep her cozy and I had it personalized with her name which makes it even more adorable! And of course you can never go wrong with a classic wool blend dad coat. So many to choose from right now and on sale!
