There are many things I enjoy about the winter time, e.g, cozy knits, a roasting fire and of course the spiced lattes. But none helps me get started in the morning like a fantastic bowl of goodness. Hot oats is such a great comfort food and on cold days I swear it tastes especially yummy. To dress up an otherwise boring bowl, I added cooked sugared bananas, peanut butter, roasted walnuts and a drizzle of honey. Sounds good? Sometimes I’ll add fresh or frozen berries, whichever I happen to have on hand. At times I add greek yogurt and trail mix. For more protein you can add protein powder or mix two egg whites while the oats are cooking. Any way you make it, it’s a great way to start your morning.
