NIXS Evergreen

Welcome back friends! Today’s post is a tasty recap of small plates at yet another great spot that just opened up in my neck of the woods, NIXS Evergreen!My first taste of NIXS was last year when I was invited to it’s Hartford location. And after sampling such incredible dishes I couldn’t possibly decline another invitation to yet another fabulous culinary extravaganza. Tucked in a corner of the chic center of the Promenade Shops of Evergreen Walk NIXS Evergreen is the place to be for your next savory indulgence and social gathering.

The restaurant’s vibe as you first walk in is fun and unique. Part industrial, part eclectic and definitely chic, it’s a place for all types of gastronomes. The girlfriends can head on over for cocktails while the guys enjoy a game by the bar and the family unit can have a cozy meal in any one of their comfy seating areas.While my friends enjoyed other fine drinks from the fabulous menu my cocktail choice was the ever refreshing NIXS Sangria! Among other great plates, we began with a beautiful spread of the Chef’s Cheese Plate with fig jam, honey, almond brittle and grilled crostini! I’m a huge fan of hot buffalo wings but these Ginger Soy Wings were Bangin! The Lobster Tater Tots filled with sweet crab, lobster, cheddar cheese and lemon aioli were just as amazing.NIXS’s very own Chef Sean Delarosa decided to pay us a visit and hand deliver one of his creations, Naked Spicy Tuna!Although I didn’t get a chance to have the Buffalo Mac Attack this time around, I had it before, it deserves a well placed photo. If you’re a mac & cheese fan this is an excellent version made with spicy chicken, smoked cheddar and candied bacon. The ultimate in comfort food, how bad can that be!Fish Tacos and Veggie Quesadillas…Braised Beef Tacos and Sliders.No meal is ever complete without a spread of sweets. Featured are S’Mores Dip, a chocolate lover’s dream, homemade Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches and my favorite, little Italian doughnuts known as Zeppoles with a variety of Dipping Sauces, yum-mo!Needless to say I had a fantastic time with fellow blogger friends. I couldn’t possibly post all the photos of every item we sampled but I think you’ll agree that NIXS Evergreen is a fun and friendly establishment that everyone will enjoy.
