A Rose Quartz Moment

Welcome back friends. My very first outfit post for the year is based on one of Pantone’s 2016 color of the year, ‘Rose Quartz!’ I’m super ecstatic about this color for two reasons. One, because it is one of my favorite colors but interestingly enough, it also happens to be one I rarely wear. The same goes for ‘Serenity,’ which is basically a type of periwinkle blue. I don’t believe I own a single item in that color! For some reason or another I have a hard time finding things to combine them with.

For today’s look I chose simple black pants. It allows the pretty color to stand out while the white coat creates a nice background. The glitzy shoes I’m totally in love with. I wore them first here. They almost have a chameleon affect based on the overall color scheme. They’re really fun to wear and offer a touch of glam to an otherwise basic look.

I don’t know about you but I tend to associate anything with a pinkish or light blueish hue with the spring season, proms, baby showers or weddings, hence the reason I don’t wear it much. That is all about to change now. I’m hoping to wear more of these colors throughout year and hopefully incorporate them into my makeup repertoire as well.
