The season for comfort food has begun and today I have a great and simple recipe to share with you that is certain to warm up your dinner table.
Last week I had the pleasure of joining some fabulous bloggers along with chefs Olivia and Alison of AMG Catering for a cooking class featuring HOOD sour cream. After learning some new cooking techniques we were asked to come up with a recipe using HOOD sour cream for the Hood Meal Makeover Series. This one immediately came to mind.
I love a good loaded baked potato, who doesn’t, and that’s what led me to this version of sour cream mashed potatoes. Not totally loaded with all the garnishes but definitely loaded with flavor. It’s a favorite of mine and it graces my dinner menu most of the winter season.
Quite simple to put together, this recipe is hearty, complements most protein dishes and it can stand all on its own without any gravy or sauce. The creaminess and tanginess that the HOOD sour cream adds, you just can’t get from any other ingredient!
I skipped the extra garnishes since I paired it with a fantastic herbed chicken recipe I found at Williams Sonoma, (I’ll post that next time). But don’t wait for it, you can certainly get a head start on the menu by making this delicious sour cream mashed potato now!
