What other fabric epitomizes the fall season if not tweed. With an array of preppy plaids, ginghams and tweeds, my wardrobe is officially in fall mode!

Alas the layers begin. But before I dive into my ootd, I feel I must apologize for my lack of interaction as of late. I’ve been running like a bandit with several different things on my radar and I don’t mean to forsake my baby here. You guys rock and deserve the best! Having said that, I trust you will bear with me.
And now onto today’s ensemble. It is a fall staple to say the least. Casual and comfy enough to roam the pumpkin farms yet very chic to peruse the vineyards with the girlfriend. Call me ordinary, but I do like to stick to the classics. It’s like an updated 1920’s vintage attire but for today’s busy woman.
Just about every fall season I find a new tweed houndstooth/herringbone jacket to add to my collection. This year’s pick was a no-brainer. The orange accent was what drew me to it and it marks a seasonal must have for the fall lover. I chose a simple button up with minimal jewelry to let the jacket make the statement. I think perhaps I’ll layer it next with a sleek turtleneck and vest… What do you think? Any suggestions?
That looks fantastic! Such a classic, preppy look. And I love the line of the jacket…it hugs in the right places. Love it!

Hi Kelly, thanks for stopping by. And yes, it’s definitely a classic! 🙂
Great outfit! Where do you typically find your jackets? My supply is not in good shape, I only have two total for the year.
Hi Steph! I don’t have a go-to shop for finding my jackets. I typically shop different places and whenever I find one I really like I’ll just grab it. But I have found them over the years at Target, JCrew, TJMaxx and even Old Navy. Obviously the fall season is where you’ll find the best selection anywhere. Good luck hunting and thanks for stopping by! -R
I have five ( cream, black, oatmeal, bottle green and marle grey ) cashmere turtlenecks I wear with my brown tweed jacket.
They make me look smarter than I am 🙂
